Budja:

It was such a wonderful week back at Kinder with our Budja class. We had a gentle start back to term Monday, visiting the garden to gather some cooking supplies for the outdoor kitchen, getting the children's ideas and help around the room set up and enjoying a bit of sunshine outside.

The week was all about new learning and fun group moments! Carol taught us a new song, 'If I were a tree' which the children adored! We participated in a drama, retelling 'the great big enormous turnip' and we participated in activities that support the children's focus, fine motor and emotional regulation skills in a deeper manner.

It was a really fun week and so wonderful to see parents come in for stay and play.

Marram:

Welcome to Term 3! It was wonderful to all be back together again, refreshed and relaxed after our term break. It was lovely to have our room filled again with excited chatter as we talked about all the things we experienced over the holidays. This week was all about old friends reuniting with one another, and exploring new and familiar experiences inside and outside.  We explored literacy concepts through lots of singing and dancing and reading, numeracy ideas through fun counting activities and games, and social and emotional wellness, too. We are very excited about the busy and exciting term we have in front of us!

Welcome to term 3. The children were so excited to return to Kinder after the twoweeks break to reconnect with their friends and see the educators. As we enter term 3, we see the children fostering new and established relationships with other children, the environment of the kinder and our community. The educators in the Kinder value the importance of establishing secure, respectful and reciprocal relationships with the children, which is already evident in the positive and engaging atmosphere at the first day back. We look forward to a journey of more learning in term 3.

Gawarn:

The children started learning animal’s names in Mandarin class. They were introduced to the calendar system to develop their understanding of time by engaging in a daily routine of reviewing the calendar during group time. In supporting the children to develop their understanding of personal boundaries, they were introduced to Japanese Sumo with rules and guidance to support their development in rough play.

Wimbi and Dharug:

The children demonstrated confidence to explore all the learning areas that were intentionally set up to extend their learning. This week we read a book called “There was an old lady who swallowed a fly”. Throughout the reading, to develop the children’s early literacy and numeracy concepts in the story sequence, prepositions and ordinal numbers were used that told the position of animals.
