Dual-Tasking in Children: We need you!

Dear Parents at Trinity Primary School

I am reaching out as a current psychologist and educational psychology researcher completing my Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) studies in the area of developmental psychology. My research explores the development of doing two activities at once (dual-tasking) in children 6-12 yearsI am wondering if Trinity Catholic School would be interested in advertising to the families of your students?

 

 Some brief information:

  • Research ethics is currently approved through the Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) 
  • Expression of interest flyers would be forwarded to parents. 
  • Both parents and children will be provided with informed consent. 
  • There will be one online checklist (10 min)and two testing sessions (1 and 1.5 hours respectively). 
  • Testing could be completed at ACU’s research labs (Fitzroy Campus). 
  • Testing has been occurring this year and the children who have participated so far report that it is enjoyable!
  • Those who participate will be compensated via a gift card for their travel.
  • If interested, parents will also be provided brief report of their child’s motor capacities.
