Principal's News

Mr Rodrigues

Dear Families,

Congratulations to all our families as we complete a great first semester of learning and working together at Trinity. Our children have been exceptional in their approach to their own learning and have all worked hard each day to continue achieving their individual goals. Of course, as we know, there have been some ups and downs on the journey but I hope that these can also be valuable lessons for our children and teachers. On Monday each child will have received their class report and I hope it has provided some valuable information and feedback about their achievements and future learning opportunities. Today, the second, and equally important, part of our reporting takes place as students lead a conversation with their parents about some specific learning they feel proud of as well as things they have found challenging in different learning areas throughout the semester. Teachers have been working hard with each child to prepare for these student led meetings and so I am confident that each conversation will be an extremely worthwhile experience.

A reminder that school finishes at 1:35pm on Friday for our Term 2 holidays.

I wish you all the very best over the next two weeks as our children have a break from school, and I look forward to our return on Monday 11th July for all classes.

Holy Trinity  Mass

A big thank you to Ms Antonella and our Year 3/4s who led a lovely Holy Trinity Mass last Tuesday. Thank you also to all those parents who were able to join us for this special celebration.

Prayer:  For the Holidays

We thank you Lord, for this term. For the challenges, the successes, and the mistakes from which we have learnt.
Be with us as we spend our time with family and friends. Give us strength and courage to do what is right;
to be witnesses of our faith. Help us to be a practical Christian these holidays, to appreciate what others do for us, to give time and effort to help others, to be peacemakers in our family. Keep us safe in our activities; give us good rest and good fun. Bring us back refreshed and ready for a new term. We thank you for our classmates, teachers, parents and a community that cares for us.
May we always be conscious of you in our lives.
Amen

Thank you to all our generous families for supporting the Mini Vinnies intitiative. Our Social Justice and Mini Vinnie student leaders have been able to collect so many items which will all now be passed on to help those in need. Thanks to Ms Antonella, and her team.

Year 3/4 Social Justice Initiative

As part of the learning this term, in Year 3/4, our children have been discussing ways in which they can make, even a small difference in their local community. On Wednesday they set off for Citizens Park which is part of many of our families neighbourhood. Armed with protective gloves, tongs and bags they set about cleaning up some of the rubbish which unfortunately spoils so many of our shared local recreational spaces. Together with their teachers they collected over 6 bags of rubbish, so they actually made a big difference in their actions today. We hope that experiences such as these do teach our children the importance of being good stewards for our planet.

'We had so much fun!
Six bags of rubbish later!
The kids were so well behaved and they had a great time. '
Ms O'Connor

A Special Invitation

Come and celebrate 175 years since the Diocese of Melbourne was established and the“World Meeting of Families”.

Our family of faith has much to celebrate since our beginnings in 1847! Archbishop Peter A Comensoli is inviting everyone to come together on Sunday 26 June 2022 at 11am for a special Mass at St Patrick’s Cathedral, which will feature specially commissioned music performed by our various ethnic communities. That weekend also marks the conclusion of the 10th World Meeting of Families, and so following the Mass, be sure to stick around for food, fun and festivities around the Cathedral grounds!

Play Group

Our weekly playgroup has been a great success this term with many new faces joining Mrs Foley in our school library. It has been wonderful to drop in and see the children playing together, parents catching up and sharing ideas and of course enabling their children to develop some really important social skills which I am sure will come in handy when these children begin Kinder or Primary School. A special thanks to Mrs Foley who is the Playgroup coordinator and to Ms Antonella who has helped out on many occassions throughout the term.

Congratulations

A  big congratulations to Douglas in Year 4 who has been selected to represent Victoria at the National Karate Championships to be held in Rockhampton, Qld in August this year. So much practice and dedication to get to this level. We wish him all the best as he competes in August.

School Photographer

Brett our photographer was here on Tuesday and took some great photos of some of our younger students in their new uniforms. Many of these may appear in our new flyers and advertising. We will always contact parents as a courtesy, prior to using photos which may be published on flyers or advertising boards.

Second Hand Book Sale

A big Thank you to everyone who helped, visited and supported our Second Hand Book Sale!

We were very excited to be able to organise it after we missed out the last two years and for everyone to pick up some wonderful winter readings. We are happy that we can make it an annual event again!

We are also looking forward to another terrific event around books, which will be held at the end of next term as we will celebrate Book Week

Wishing you all wonderful holidays and

Happy Reading
