From the Deputy Principal

Learning conferences

Parents and carers will be able to access the Mid-Year Assessment Statements via SEQTA Engage in the coming week.

Junior School reports will be released this Friday 1 July and for the Senior School, Wednesday 6 July

The Mid-Year Statements provide students and their parents/carers with a clear and concise picture of a student's level of attainment throughout the semester.

Learning conferences for Junior and Senior School students will take place on the first day of Term 3, Monday 25 July

Learning conferences play a critical role in developing shared understandings of how each learner is travelling, and informing our next steps. Students from Years 4 to 12 are requested to attend.

One of the reasons we seek to keep the student at the centre of these reviews is that we respect and value the sense of agency that our children and young people have over their own learning.

When students, parents and teachers collectively discuss learning, there is enormous potential to increase each student’s motivation and sense of self-efficacy as learners.

Retreats and outreach

I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the Year 11 and 12 students who have completed their mid-year exams during the past week.

In the coming days, the Year 11s will be participating in their retreat and outreach experiences across Hobart, and the Year 12s will travel to Blue Lagoon for their final retreat.

Our thanks to Sharon Lawler, Director of Identity and Mission, and Belle Young, Youth Minister, who have worked tirelessly to ensure that students will enjoy the experiences where they can leave the ‘busyness' of school behind and reflect on topics including meaning, identity, faith and compassion.

Year 10 exams

In the coming days, the Year 10s will complete their exams. The opportunity to experience exams is an important one as they are an opportunity to assess learning, provide feedback and allow students to familiarise themselves with examination protocols.

As the end of the term draws closer, I wish all students and staff a relaxing term break. May it be a time of rest and rejuvenation, and we look forward to a wonderful Term 3.
