Spectacular
I am thrilled to announce that the tickets for Victorian State School Spectacular Show are online and open to anyone.
It will be held at the John Cain Arena on Saturday 10th September 2022.
16 of our 4/5/6 students will be participating as Mass dancers on the show, it is looking amazing!

Round 3 of Spectacular rehearsals continued on Tuesday 14th June. Our dancers attended Ivanhoe East for our hub rehearsals. There was dancing, collaboration and learning of new dance sequences. We learned a new 7th song, in conjunction with all the other 6 songs. We have officially learned all 7 dances from beginning to end!
I have video links of the 7 songs which I have sent to the Spectacular Dancers via a group chat on Teams. Please message me directly if your child cannot access these.
Upcoming rehearsal dates and venues are shown in an image below.
We will be attending the Round 4 Rehearsal will be held at Heathmont on Friday 5th August.
There will also be an extra two Dress rehearsals on Thursday 8th and Friday 9th September at the John Cain Arena, before the big show on Saturday September 10th!

In Performing Arts, Dance has continued to be the main focus. We learned about our Spanish Cultural Celebration this term, Festival del Sol(Festival of the Sun). This festival is celebrated in Peru every year on June 21st. We are excited to present a Performance Collaboration with F/1s and 2/3s! Both cohorts have been learning how to dance Negroide - An African influenced Peruvian Cultural Dance, for the Festival del Sol (Festival of the Sun). We have had incredible fun learning how to love our hips, chests and roll our necks to the beat of the Negroide up beat song, "Saca las manos"!

The main focus in Performing Arts for this term, has been Dance. Our Spanish Cultural Celebration this term is Inti Raymi (Festival of the sun). This festival is celebrated in Peru every year on June 21st. started to learn about the Inca civilisation and their traditions, such as Festival del Sol (Festival of the Sun) still celebrated in Peru to this day! We have been learning how to dance Huayno - A Traditional Inca / Peruvian Cultural Dance, for the Festival del Sol (Festival of the Sun). We have enjoyed learning cultural steps such as 'el zapateo' (the tapping with the feet) and how to use props such as bufandas (scarves) in the dance choreography.
