Assistant Principal Report - Junior School and Wellbeing

June Sainsbery

Our new Year 7 students are settling into high school very well and it was great to see so many parents attend out Meet the Tutor sessions.  These were held over Webex and were an opportunity to meet the Tutor teacher and one of the coordinators, find out information about how to best support your child and ask questions.

Toilet Facilities:

We have been disappointed with the behaviour and conduct of a small number of students in relation to the disrespect shown to the bathroom facilities at the college.  There were some hardware issues (broken locks and soap dispensers) and these have now been rectified.  This is sometimes challenging due to delays in being able to obtain replacement parts.  As a result, we have increased our monitoring of the general bathroom areas and apply appropriate consequences in relation to students caught doing the wrong thing. This has resulted in some students being disallowed from the area.  Please discuss with your child and encourage them to talk to their Year Level Coordinator if they have any concerns about the toilet facilities.
