Parents and Friends

To all our St Bede’s Parents

Firstly I would like to introduce myself, my name is Joe Pulvirenti and it is my first year serving as the president of the St Bede’s parents association.  I thank our outgoing president Omar Khabbaz for his valued leadership and contribution to the St Bede’s parents association over the last couple of years.

The mission of our St Bedes Parent Association 2022 is to support our children, our school, our parish community and of course our fellow parents throughout their St Bedes journey. The association is active in fundraising with a view to support the school to continue providing exceptional educational experiences, as well as providing opportunities for parents to socialise and support one another through the joys of parenting primary school children. In essence the role of the parents association is an important one for our school community.

The group representing you, our parents, on our committee this year are made up of a couple of new and some not so new members and once again this year we welcome Brian Grace and Larissa Boyhan as the school’s representatives to the committee.

Last year our fundraising goal was to raise enough funds to acquire five marquees for the school, one large marquee for general use and four smaller marquees, one for each of the four sports houses.  Despite difficult times last year with various lockdowns, the great news is that we were successful in raising enough funds to acquire the marquees.  Thank you to our 2021 fundraising team, Lisa, Monica and Tillia, to the many volunteers whom volunteered their time and St Bede’s parents for supporting our course last year. Without your support, the marquee purchases would not have happen.  Stay tuned for more exciting news regarding the marquees soon.

This year our fundraising goal it to raise funds towards redevelopment of the play ground, specifically around the sand pit area.  To get there, the fundraising team have a lot of exciting events and opportunities planned.  Our fundraising theme this year is ‘Get the Community Back’.  In doing so, we’ll bring back such events as the school disco, Christmas market, the Krispy Kreme donut fundraiser, Easter raffle, silver coin challenge, colour run, trivia night and much more.  In conjunction with this, there is the return of our much loved community events (non-fundraising) such as the  mother’s and father’s day stall, mother’s day dinner, father’s day breakfast, father child camp and pancake Tuesday!   

We are currently seeking parent/s to run the mother’s day dinner in Term 2. This is a great event to organise with friends and to meet new people in the community. Please contact me if you are interested to organise this much loved event.

I would also like to encourage parents to get involved in activities such as volunteering for tuckshop, our upcoming school disco and other events previously mentioned above. Please contact the parents association via Chris Comand or let a member of the fundraising team (Viviana Rossios, Lisa Marulli, Pascal Simonetta, and Catherine Purtell) know of your interest or ways you can help.

We have a number of exciting things being planned this year, so community, please support our course by supporting our events and getting involved. I look forward to seeing many of you throughout the year.
