Mathematics @ GEC

“Mathematics rightly viewed, possesses not only truth, but supreme beauty!” – Bertrand Russell, British Mathematician.

In the Maths classrooms so far….

Mr Shnier’s Year 11 General Maths students think SACs are better if you have a soft toy!

Congratulations to the great success of an engaging, fun and collaborative kick-off for Ms Liu’s Year 9E. Students worked in groups and applied their prior measurement knowledge to discover the relationship between rectangles and squares with same perimeter or area. All learners actively shared their unique mathematical thinking in groups and happily learn from their own mistakes.  All the best to their Maths learning journey!

Refreshing learning can be done in a fun and creative way.  7A, 7C, 7D and 7G students all worked in groups to reach target numbers on a broken calculator using order of operations and their creativity, and therefore explored the beauty and inclusiveness in Maths! Well done Year 7s! Keep it up!

Let’s keep solving problems because Maths can!
