Library Captains

Congratulations to William and Max our Library Captains for 2022! We look forward to working with them throughout the year in the library.

International Women’s Day

We celebrated in the library with a display of women who inspire us, a puzzle and a book display featuring some amazing women.

Australian Children’s Laureate

Last week, Gabrielle Wang was appointed the role of 2022/2023 Australian Children’s Laureate. The role is to promote the transformational power of reading, creativity and story in the lives of young Australians. Learn more about Gabrielle here and the foundation here. 

CBACA 2022 Notables List

The Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA) Book of the Year Notables List has been released. The full list can be found here. Most books in the Older Readers category can be found in the GEC Library. The shortlist will be announced on 29th March.

Book Club

It has been great to see so many students at Book Club, which runs every ‘Blue Week’ Wednesday from the beginning of lunch in the library. All welcome!

Homework Help

Tuesday & Wednesdays after school in the library (3.30pm - 4.30pm).

Volunteer tutors available for assistance with most subject areas.

The library is open everyday after school for students to study except when staff meetings are scheduled.
