Year 8 has an assessment task coming up where each student will design their own healthy breakfast. To help students get out of their comfort zone and try new things, we made Zucchini Fritters with a poached egg. The results were fantastic.

 

 

In the Year 9 elective, Make, Bake and Decorate, it is all about commercial production and the design process. To start the term, we have made Emoji themed biscuits. Students designed what they were going to make and in the next lesson they produced biscuits and were taught how to decorate with a piping bag and royal icing. Here are some of their creations. 

 

 

The Year 9s then made a product that is well known in the commercial industry, which is a sponge cake with feather icing. Students will be doing their next assessment on baked products and the different icings and techniques relevant to the product. 

 

 

Year 10 World of Food have been visiting Italy this past week and understanding how much we have been influenced by this beautiful country. During the practical class, students made their own pasta from scratch, you just cannot beat the freshness.
