Sports Update

Swimming Finals!

Our EMC swim team competed in the Northern Peninsula District Swimming Finals on March 17. 25 swimmers represented EMC at the Pines Forest Aquatic Center in what started off as a pretty dreary day before the sun came out after lunch and allowed the swimmers to swim in more favorable conditions. Our swimmers competed well in their chosen events and this showed in the results with EMC amassing a huge 15 second places, 9 third places and a solo first to Hayden Coutts who know moves onto the Southern Metropolitan Finals on the 28th March at MSAC.

Congratulations to all our swimmers who participated well and were also a great bunch to supervise displaying great maturity in being ready for all their events and were all really well behaved.

Cross Country

Congratulations to all students who competed in the EMC Cross Country trials on Monday 21st March. It was great to see so many students across all year levels try out to represent EMC at the next round. Please see attachment for results. Top 10 in each age group make up the team for Division Cross Country to be held on the 3rd of June (students- you will see this appear on your compass events). For further information please see Mr. Kingston, Mr. Dyring or Mackenzie in the PE office.

Inter-school Sign Ups for Year 7 & 8 Sport

Inter-school Sport sign up forms for Year 7 Sport and Year 8 Sport are now ready in the PE Office!

Year 7 Sport will be taking place on Friday 1st April
Year 8 Sport will be taking place on Wednesday 6th April

If you are interested in representing EMC then please come to the PE office before or after school or during recess or lunch time. (Do not come during class time).

The sports on offer for Term One are:

Cricket (Super 8's)
Tennis
Volleyball and Softball/Baseball

Training days and times will be posted shortly as some teams will most likely need to complete tryouts to finalize numbers and teams.
