Queensland camp cancelled

Hello KDC community, we have made the decision to cancel Queensland camp for 2022. 

This was a difficult decision. The key reasons for cancelling this camp:

  1. Ongoing isolation requirements for COVID positive or close contacts. If a student were to test positive during their time on camp, they and their cabin members would be required to isolate from the date of their test for seven days. This would cause significant disruptions, not to mention additional costs for the families for change of flights, accommodation, food, etc.
  2. If we were to proceed with the camp and it not go ahead due to a lockdown or some other unforeseen issue, families would be required to pay cancellation fees in excess of $400 per student. 

Attempting to organise this camp all begun in November 2021. Thank you to the students that submitted their expression of interest.  

I will be investigating other activities for Year 10s later in the year.
