Parent Helpers

in Junior Literacy

All students attending St Louis de Montfort's Aspendale have the right to feel safe. The care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people is a fundamental responsibility of all within our school.

Literacy Helper Workshop

Just a reminder that we are offering a Literacy Helper Workshop

online next week and all are welcome!

This session will provide some information and background that will assist you to be a helper in the classroom and may also be of interest if you are looking for ways to support your child at home with Literacy.

The Literacy Helper Workshop will be an online event as detailed below.  It will run twice, however you only need to attend one session as it will be repeated. The sessions will run for no more than an hour as follows -

Tuesday 22nd March at 1.45.

 OR

Thursday 24th March at 9.15

In Term 2 we will be seeking volunteers to help with Literacy in Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 classes (subject to COVID restrictions) and if you would like to assist we ask that you attend one of the workshops.

This will be very similar to the session run in 2021 so if you attended then, you do not need to attend again unless you would like a refresher. Teachers with a VIT registration are not required to do so.

All helpers will require a Working With Children Check so if you don’t already have one, it would be good to start that process now in readiness for Term 2.  Days and times for helpers will vary from class to class and your child’s teacher will provide a roster for helpers to nominate sessions when they can help.
