Students without lunch
A reasonable response.
An increasing number of students are turning up at the canteen without lunch. While I imagine it is possible on the odd occasion a child will have forgotten to bring it to school, there appears to be a trend occurring that is becoming unmanageable at our end.
I have spoken with a few children who tell me they don't like what they've been given, and so pretend that they have left it at home or mum / dad didn't put it in the school bag. In my own experience, this was a cue to get my kids to make their own lunch (supervised of course).
Due to COVID the canteen is not providing counter sales so the produce is not available and the staff are not onsite for the length of time they have been previously. Students who identify themselves as without food will be directed to the school office and the parent(s) will be call to provide a solution.
In dire cases food may be provided on short notice from the canteen and an invoice sent home.
Please help us help your child by making sure their lunch is in their school bag.
Thank you
