Academic Care and Wellbeing - Students

SRC Commissioning Ceremony - Students Page

At Mater Dei Catholic College we continue to build upon the many leadership opportunities available for our students to showcase their gifts and talents and to make a difference in the lives of others. As we strive to live God’s message in our daily lives, we are reminded of our collective capacity to demonstrate neighbourly love; to lend a hand to others, to show active leadership in our community and to promote our College with pride. It is these qualities our students so richly value as part of their Mater Dei College Community experience.

Our Student Leaders are called to serve our Community...

The members of the Student Representative Council will work to undertake community growth and partnerships, social justice and environmentally sustainable initiatives throughout 2020 and enact their voice, on behalf of the student body.

Among other things, these leaders will be involved in the planning for Vinnies Appeals, Caritas Campaigns, Catholic Mission Initiatives, the Youth Mental Health Forum, Youth Masses, the Yr 11 Street Retreat and Jumper Committee and the Vinnies Container deposit Scheme for School based recycling.

Congratulations to our newly commissioned SRC members;

  • Arna Lane Year 8
  • Tatum Ward and Jennifer Lungley Year 10
  • Millie Owen, Octavia Coleman, Clay De Paoli and Thomas McLoughlin Year 11.
  • Year 12, our appointed School, Boarding School and House Captains: Hannah Reardon, Nathanael Mooney, Lily Burge, Anna Boland, Marcus Blair, Grace Melton, Louis Grigg, Isabelle Cunningham, Bryce Magnone, Georgie Wood, Kyle Hockley, Charlotte Dedini and Wilson Hamblin.

Rotary Annual Peace Ceremony

Our College Captains Hannah Reardon and Nathanael Mooney travelled to the new look Riverina Playhouse and spoke on behalf of Mater Dei Catholic College at the Rotary Annual Peace Day Ceremony last weekend.  Hannah and Nathanael had the opportunity to speak about the ways in which the Mater Dei Catholic College community supports and serves local, national and global organisations in the hope of promoting and educating on the importance of peace and goodwill in the world.

Our Catholic Mission and Vision, inspires students to initiate social change through projects and ministry which impact communities domestically and globally and we were fortunate enough to share our goals for this year and listen to those of other schools in the area.
