Welcome to the first senior school assembly of 2022. We have missed seeing everyone together as Covid has kept us separate. Thank you for being Covid safe at school and sun safe in the yard. We would also like to thank the teachers for helping us have a fantastic start to the year and for helping us to learn during such hard times throughout the pandemic.

This year we are so excited to watch all of you grow, from the Grade 3s to 6, especially in your transition to high school. We hope that this will be an exciting and more social year, free from all the changes of last year.
We would now like to welcome Principal Sarah to the stage to announce the JSRC and provide our amazing leadership team with their badges!

One exciting event that we had this year was district swimming. Although the weather was gloomy it was a really fun day with everyone and we were able to enjoy the team spirit of NMPS. We loved being able to represent the school in the pool.

We are very pleased to say we came 4th in the Big Schools competition, we weren’t discouraged by not making the top 3 because we all tried our hardest and had a really great day. Can everyone who participated in District Swimming please stand up so that we can give them a big round of applause!
Amy
Another amazing event at our school was Open Classrooms. This gave us a great opportunity to show our hard work and learning spaces to our families. It was really good to see the school community come together.
As you all know our school values are Responsible, Inclusive, Sagacious and Ethical. We would love to see everyone RISE up and build our school community. Examples of RISE include helping out the preps as they adjust to school, keeping the bathrooms clean and thinking before you act and speak.
Gabe
As we are in Term 1, we would also like to remind all students to wear hats at play time. If you don’t have a hat please join the No Hat Club when it is on or spend your time in the shade. Also don’t forget to stay hydrated.
Roisin
Thank you to everyone for listening, we hope you have a great weekend and in the dialect of Woiwurrung we would like to say…Goobita which means take care!
