It's hard to believe we are already in week 6 of Term 1; half way through.

Well done families!

The transition back to school has been faced by all our students, with a myriad of emotions. With many experiencing Big Feelings, Excitement and Exhaustion. While we are so happy to return to more normal school life for the students, there remains the undertow of the reality of Covid-19 such as frequent testing and isolation requirements. Yet within this, we are still able to celebrate and engage in more of our pre-covid normal life activities and milestones.

Recently, I tuned into a webinar presented by a psychologist and a primary school teacher titled: “Managing Big Feelings with your Children”. Personally, I really appreciated the simple tips and reminders on working with our children, helping them to explore and explain their emotions and the use of language  -  and took on board the overarching message to be kind and compassionate to you – especially in the middle of those very challenging times!

This has led the wellbeing team to begin to explore the possibility of seeking a similar webinar to be delivered to our North Melbourne PS Families. So, we would like to put this out to you – would you as a family appreciate a NMPS webinar around issues such as managing the big feelings in your children – or another topic?

We have included a Wellbeing Webinar Survey to hear what you believe would be of most benefit for you and would really appreciate your feedback. We look forward to hearing your thoughts!
