A Message from the Principal

Tonight we will gather as a community for our Annual Twilight Sports Carnival. This is always a great way to celebrate the sporting skills and talents of our students while gathering as a whole school community. I am looking forward to seeing you all there tonight at Bill Sewart Reserve, 330 Burwood Hwy, East Burwood at 4.45pm.

This week we welcome a new staff member to our team, Mrs Alice Krause, who will be working as a class teacher in Prep A. We are delighted to welcome Mrs Krause to the St John's School Community.

We continue to have a few COVID cases reported each week or notifications of families in isolation. Please ensure that you are monitoring for any symptoms and testing your child twice weekly, on Monday and Wednesday mornings. Unfortunately we are not currently able to distribute RAT kits from the government across the entire school but we hope that supplies will be replenished soon.

School Uniform Survey

The School Advisory Council recommended at the end of 2021 that a uniform sub committee be formed to review the current school uniform. The sub committee will be conducting a survey to seek your feedback on whether we need to make any changes to the current uniform. Please complete the 5 minute survey to provide your ideas and feedback.

St John's WOW Golden Boot Award
St John's WOW Golden Boot Award

It was great to see so many students riding, walking and scooting into school.

Please support your child's participation each week on Tuesday to walk or wheel to school so that their class might be the winners of the Golden Boot Award.

Year 6 Camp to The Briars, Mt Martha

Our Year 6 students had a fantastic experience at the Briars Adventure Camp last week. It included three days of beach activities, team building and outdoor adventure activities. Some of the highlights included the Night Walk, Talent Show and the Giant Swing. It was a great experience for everyone involved and has helped to strengthen friendships while building independence and resilience for all our students.

I would like to thank Mrs Pattison, Mr Masters, Mrs Buscema and Ruby Schneider for supporting the students on the camp.
