What a wonderful job parents are doing in packing their children's snack and lunch boxes free of plastic. Nude Food rules. Well done!

Just a reminder to those who are a little unsure, St Joseph’s is a Resourscesmart School and rubbish bin free school, so anything that comes to school eg flexible/ single use plastics, yogurt drink tubes, etc need to go back home for recycling. For further information,  go to the Mornington Peninsula Shire website: Single use Plastic Guidelines to help make a better choice.

What are single-use plastics? Single-use plastics are used only once, or for a limited time before being discarded.

The single-use plastics that will be banned  for sale or supply across Victoria by February 2023 include:

  •  Single-use plastic drinking straws
  • cutlery
  • plates
  • drink-stirrers
  • expanded polystyrene food and drink containers
  • cotton bud sticks
