Mid-year is an opportune time for reflection and setting new goals for teachers and students alike. In this vein, our students were encouraged and guided to review their engagement and progress in Term 2 and to think about what they would like to achieve in their Arrowsmith Program this term. It was also an interesting revelation for teachers to gauge the increasing level of self-awareness and a general improvement in their ability to evaluate their own growth. Their developing ability as independent learners was evident in the recent Open Day, where our students explained to the visiting groups, their individual program and how it enhances their cognitive capacities.

We finished the last term with a much-anticipated and long overdue excursion to Bounce. The students revelled in each other’s company and had a truly enjoyable experience. They had good opportunities to forge new friendships and ultimately, to test their prowess in the various activities. We said goodbye to Luella and Yehuda and wish them every success as they resume their mainstream learning journey. This term we welcome Niamh, Indy, and Nicholas into our Arrowsmith Program. They are to be acknowledged for their seamless transition mid-year into a new school and program. We are already enjoying watching them embrace all that the Arrowsmith Program has to offer.

Mr. Stagg has taken his well-earned Long Service Leave this term. We wish him safe travels and a relaxing and enjoyable break and look forward to his new, “Dad” jokes upon his return. We also look forward to our students’ successes this term, as old goals are achieved and new ones set and actively pursued.
