Chaplain's Corner

Hello, my name is Father Stavros Kakavas and this has been the first opportunity I have had to communicate with you the parents, and the families of our blessed school.

I have been a clergyman for 25 years and served across many parishes in Melbourne. Now, with the blessing of His Eminence our Archbishop Makarios, I have been appointed as the Parish Priest of Sts. Anargiri and the School Chaplain of Oakleigh Grammar.

Sts. Anargiri is not a stranger to me, as when I first came to this blessed country, it was the first church where I came to light a candle at. Later, I was able to assist the late Fr Nicholas Moutafis on the footings and construction of the current church of Sts Anargiri. I am so humbled to be able to fulfil the work of our ancestors here at Sts Anargiri and I promise that I will do my best to serve the Church, the School, and our broader community, for the Glory of God.

I am looking forward to getting to know all of you and am always available to support you. The desire of my heart is that we all work together to grow our community and blessed School.

I would like to wish everyone the best of health and as we say in Greece; Καλό Δεκαπενταύγουστο και Χρονιά Πολλά!
