Feast day of Mary Mackillop

Next Monday we celebrate the feast day of St Mary of the Cross Mackillop. Mary Mackillop is Australia’s first and only saint. Mary was completely dedicated to others, in particular the most disadvantaged in society. Mary became the first Sister of St Joseph and was a teacher, initially in Penola in South Australia, where she taught and cared for poor children living in the bush. Mary made many sacrifices in order to help others and her legacy is one of love for all, especially the most marginalised. Mary is an inspiration and helps us to strengthen our faith and trust in a caring God. We are challenged to be more like Mary Mackillop. All students will atttend mass at 9:15am. Everyone is welcome to come and join in.
