State Schools Victoria Athletics - Malik and Andre:

After winning all 5 events at the regional stage, Malik came in strong to the state finals becoming 100m State Champion, runner up in the 200m (.05secs off 1st), long jump and triple jump and 3rd in high jump! A truly amazing achievement, well done Malik !

Andre was a fierce competitor in the regional finals qualifying for the high jump and 1500. He fought hard against tough competition in the state finals and did us proud, he will be back stronger next year well done Andre!

Senior Boys Basketball Regionals: Senior boys came agonisingly close to a final! Coming from 15 points down in the first game to draw against eventual finalists Gladstone Park, beating Craigieburn convincingly before another draw against a stubborn Diamond Valley we finished 2nd in our pool. The boys played brilliant basketball showed great teamwork and sharp skills, very unfortunate not to progress but we’ll be back again bigger and stronger next year ! Great job boys !

Congratulations to the Year 8 Boys Soccer Regional Champions ! Excellent football and team spirit, the boys dominated their group stage before a tense final. Coming from behind in the last few minutes to draw 2-2, Princes Hill went into extra time finishing off their chances to win 5-2!

Year 7 Boys Regional Soccer Runners up: Incredible effort from the team, dominating the group stage the boys had to play 3 games straight before playing the final. They fought hard but were exhausted in the second half, the game was even until 5 minutes from time Coburg High scored, we tried hard to get an equaliser but got caught on the counterattack with the game finishing 2-0. Big learning opportunity, the boys will be back bigger and stronger next year !

State Hockey teams: Huge achievement for our teams to make the state finals, not our day but girls team finished 5th in the state and the boys finished 7th in the state.

Well done to all involved, we learn from the experience and come back stronger next year!
