Responsible Pet Ownership Education Program

On Thursday this week, Foundation, Grade 1 and Grade 2 attended the Responsible Pet Incursion that was held at school. This incursion focused on how to be a responsible pet owner and how to be safe around dogs. Sprocket the Border Collie provided students with firsthand experience in how they need to ask to approach, and pat an unknown dog. Sprocket received many warm pats from students throughout the day. Students also learned the steps to follow if an unknown dog was to approach them, and the signs to look for when a dog is scared and unsafe to pat.

Choose Your Own Adventure stories

In the Grade 3/4 Digitech rotation this term, the students have been learning some of the additional features that can be used to create an interactive Choose Your Own Adventure story using linking buttons and animations. We spent several weeks writing their stories with a partner before then typing up their stories in a Google slide presentation. We then explored different ways we could make the story more interesting and interactive including learning how to make linking buttons, include background images, create slide transitions and animating text. The end results have been fantastic to say the least. The Google slide presentations are all included in the 3/4 Digitech Google Classroom so why not take a look and have a read of the story your child has prepared. Choose wisely though .... some of the stories have some crazy twists and turns so make sure you don't choose the wrong one!!
