Student Achievements

Congratulations to Maeve Magner (Violin, Year 11) who has been invited to participate in the State Honours Ensemble Program (SHEP) at the Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University (29th Sep - 2nd Oct 2022).

Vita Musicale

All music ensembles are now busy rehearsing for our whole school concert, Vita Musicale, which will take place in Cuff Hall on Friday, 19th August at 6:00pm. The concert will showcase BMGS’ musical ensemble endeavours from Pre-K through to Year 12.

It is essential that all musicians attend their ensemble rehearsals in Weeks 3-5 in order to prepare. Please make this a priority! Further information on technical rehearsals and arrangements for Fri 19 Aug will be sent to students and parents shortly.

AYO 2023 Training Programs

Applications are now open for the Australian Youth Orchestra 2023 Training Programs, including Young Symphonists, National Music Camp, Youth Orchestra, Chamber Players, Orchestral Management, Music Journalism, Sound Production and Composition. For full information and application details visit ayo.com.au. Auditions for instrumentalists are due 6th to 8th September, 2022.

The Young Symphonists program will take place 23rd September to 1st October 2023 in Bathurst, which is a good local option for BMGS musicians. This program is where you take the first step on your orchestral path and join other gifted young musicians for an intensive week of music-making. It is designed specifically for 12–17year-olds who wish to experience the joy of tackling highly challenging repertoire and who might be contemplating a performance career. You will join other gifted young musicians from around the country for an intensive, week-long residential program. Musicians will attend tutorials with some of Australia’s most respected and celebrated tutors and undergo an exciting and rigorous rehearsal and performance program before showcasing their newly honed skills in a public performance.
