Senior School

The best education is always characterised by a strong partnership between the School and the Home. To that end, it has been a joy to welcome parents on campus in this past week not only for our Commencement Assembly and Morning Tea last Wednesday, but also for Ice Breakers on Friday evening. One of the defining characteristics of Blue Mountains Grammar School has always been the strength of relationships across our community, and while this has been to some degree disrupted by years of COVID, we look forward to many more opportunities to see them grow and flourish over coming weeks and months.

As a school we have always also long been characterised by the growth of leadership in our young people, with past generations of students going out into the world equipped with both a strong sense of purpose and character, and also the skills needed to lead effectively. We are currently on the cusp of a new generation of student leaders taking up leadership responsibility here in the Senior School, with our Year 11 students undergoing their leadership interviews this week and next week. With almost sixty promising applicants for a variety of leadership positions, I am confident that our School’s tradition of exceptional young leaders is in safe hands.

Our Senior students are busily preparing for Trial HSC Examinations, with exams scheduled to begin on Monday of Week 3. I look forward to seeing what our students will make of their experience, and wish them all the best in this season.

On a pragmatic note, parents are reminded to please keep students home should they have even the mildest cold and flu symptoms. With COVID continuing to rumble around our community it is important that we continue to do the simple things that we know help to keep each other safe!
