                                 Specialist Arts Teacher (Wednesdays)

Natalie Delsar – Learning Intervention and EALD teacher

NEW CLASSES

2 new IELP classes have been set up.

Room 2 – Senior Class

Teachers - Maryanne Fletcher and Marta Cichonski

Room 6 -Junior Class

Teachers -Carly Price and Marta Cichonski

These classes are growing steadily with new students enrolling almost daily.

TAKE HOME READING

All students are expected to engage in reading at home every night.

For the early years students it is expected that they read aloud to an adult and the adult records this in the “Reading Log” each night.

Senior students may prefer to read to themselves or aloud to practice their fluency or expression.

Our aim is for all students to move from:

LEARNING TO READ

            to

READING TO LEARN

Research suggests that if students do not read at level 24 by the end of Year 2 they are at serious risk of never catching up.

BUILDING UPDATE

Progress continues  - we are still anticipating being in our new admin area by term 4.

STUDENT LEADER TEAMS

Our senior class has formed 4 student leader teams, each is facilitated by an educator.

  • Wellbeing Team: Matt Cailes
  • STEM Team: Graham Wegner
  • Whole School Events Team: Hayley Nisbit
  • Sustainability Team: Sue Moroney

Teams meet every second Thursday morning.

This is an opportunity for our students to develop leadership skills and to have an authentic voice in making our school an even better place to be and learn.

We look forward to  the school improvements our student leader teams can make!
