UNION HALL - LATROBE UNIVERSITY
This week in production preparations, we have allocated some singing solos (with more to come next week).
So far we have Max H (Grade 2), Charlie G (Grade 3) and Mia G-P (Grade 3) who will be performing short singing solos as part of their house song or choir performance.
I have been super impressed with the talent across all grades. Newlands students continue to amaze me!
Next week we will be publishing the entire list of all cast members and singing soloists.
TICKETS - Tickets will be available ONLINE shortly. Keep your eyes and ears open for all details regarding website, costing and sale date.
COSTUMES - All costume requirement details will be issued during Music and Performing Arts' classes next week (week commencing Monday August 8th.
Some students will be asked to provide items from home and some will be given items from school.
Costume notices will be need to be returned by the end of this term, so we can source any items students require assistance with.
Do you know what the story is about?
I am sure your children will be able to tell you a little about the characters, Buster, Teddy, Candy, Grace & Raff, and the journey this story takes them on in search of new homes.
There are lots of characters along the way including fairy tale characters, pirates, teddy bears, puppets, children at a hospital and shoppers at a garage sale.
All students are expected to perform on both nights and we ask that if, for some reason, they are unable to attend, (e.g. due to a booked holiday), that you inform us as soon as is possible.
Ifyour child/children attend lessons or training of some kind on those nights, which may clash with the performances, we ask that perhaps it may be possible to do a swap for performance week, in order that they can attend this special whole school event.
Students across the school have already begun rehearsals, which will form most of their Music and Performing Arts lessons for this term. All students will appear on stage 3 times and I hope they may have already started talking about it at home.
Last term, Laura and I auditioned many students for the main 5 characters and had so much talent, we decided to double cast those parts. This means we will have 1 cast of 5 perform on Tuesday and the other on the Thursday.
What time do they need to be there?
As we progress through the term, more information will be published on this page regarding times for arriving on the night and any other arrangements necessary.
Please mark the dates in your calendar/diary if you haven't already done so, and don't hesitate to ask if there are any questions at this stage.
