Leadership

What a Day!
Today we had a great time celebrating '100 days of school for our 76 Foundation students. The kids looked fantastic, the staff were resplendent in a range of period garb - great effort everyone. 'Funky Friday' returned for the kids to enjoy bit of 'grooving on the floor' at lunch time, big thanks to Graeme and the ICT leaders. This was all happening while the Year 4-6 teachers are furiously cooking up a storm - sausages and fried onions all for a great cause - the Year Six Graduation fundraiser. The day concluded with our 2/3 learning area sharing their learning with their grandparents. The focus was around identity and how society has changed through the years.
I would like to thank the staff and students for their kinds thoughts to me in recognition of Principals Day. Being a principal is a wonderful experience, one that provides many learning opportunities as an educationalist. For me being principal at Newlands has been a fabulous experience, one filled with very enthusiastic students, an engaged community and topped off with a great team of teachers and educational support staff.
