Book Week 19th to 23rd August 2019

Dress up Day – Friday 23rd August

Don’t forget we will be holding a dress-up day this Friday with a parade between 9:30am and 10:30am in the assembly area.

Students can dress up as a book character or as a super hero.  As Miss K explained at Monday morning’s assembly, you can even create your own Superhero -  you aren’t confined to the famous ones.  We want to see your creativity shine.  Check out Op shops and use what you have at home to make your own unique costume.  There will be prizes for the most creative / imaginative costumes.

Book of the Year Awards

Over the past 8 weeks classes have been reading the short-listed books in the early Childhood and Picture Book of the Year categories.  Classes voted on which ones they think should win.

Our school voted for Cicada was our favourite for the Picture Book Category and this was also chosen as the winner by the judges.  For the Early Childhood category, Rainbow Bear won the most votes in our school but the judges chose Tricky’s Bad Day as the winner.  All the short listed books are now available to be borrowed.

Book Club – Issue 6

Issue 6 has been sent home this week.  Orders are due back at school by Monday 2nd September.
