COMBINED SCHOOL DAY

Next Tuesday, 19 November, all the children from St Aloysius Campus will come across to St Anthony’s Campus to spend the day together.  This will provide an opportunity for the children to take part in classroom activities and play together.  The children will travel by bus from Caulfield leaving at 9.00am to Glen Huntly and then returning by 3.15pm. Children will need to bring their bag with them for the day with play lunch, lunch, drink bottle and sunhat.

Please ensure that you sign the CareMonkey note that you receive so that the children can be transported across campuses.

The St Aloysius staff will remain at Caulfield Campus, giving them time to prepare for the closing of the campus.

ORIENTATION DAY

On Tuesday 26 November, the children from St Aloysius who will be attending St Anthony’s 2020 will have the opportunity to spend the day with their class level.

Parents have been asked to bring their child/children to school when the doors open at 8.40am and then collect them at 3.30pm.  Any families requiring OSHC are asked to contact the office for organisational purposes.

GLEN EIRA WALK TO SCHOOL CHALLENGE

The children from St Anthony's School took up the opportunity of the Walk to School Challenge.

It was positive to see so many of the children walk to school even though the weather may have gone against the fun of it.

They were determined to complete their Ticket and eagerly handed them  into the office staff to commence a new one.

The opportunity to take part in a fun activity whilst at the same time being physically active was a positive initiative, which we proudly promote at school.

Well done to all the children who took part in this month's challenge.  Prize winners will be announced by the City of Glen Eira soon.

PREP ORIENTATION 2020

Yesterday the Preps for 2020 had their first orientation day and eagerly waited to be escorted into their room.  Mrs Marina Russo has been appointed their teacher for next year.  The children settled into their activities with ease and spent the time becoming familiar with their new classmates and teacher.  At the end of the session, they proudly walked to their parents / carers and showed off their school work.  They were given their special “Welcome to St Anthony’s” tee shirt which they eagerly wore.

SCHOOL ADVISORY TEAM (SAT) AGM:

TUESDAY 19 NOVEMBER - 7.30PM.

Nominations are due Monday 18 November. Please apply if you are considering being part of this team that meets once each term.  This is an opportunity for parents to have a voice in school affairs and make recommendations when required.  We currently have two more positions that need to be filled as a minimum number of members are needed for each meeting to go ahead.  If you are considering giving up an hour and half or so each term please fill in the attached nomination form.

BUSH FIRE APPEAL - SUPPORTING AUSTRALIAN FAMILIES

The Salvation Army has launched a national disaster appeal aiming to raise $3 million dollars to help the communities that have been devastated by the ongoing bushfire crisis across New South Wales and Queensland.

To show our school’s support we will collect any donations that are brought to school and then send it to the Appeal.  Seeing we are all together next Tuesday perhaps this would be a good day to show our solidarity for the Appeal by bringing your donations to school.

Woolworths stores are also collecting towards the Appeal as another alternative.

Our thoughts are with the Australian families that have been affected by this tragedy and are grateful for the dedicated personnel who are coping with the fires in this difficult time.

NOTES and NOTICES and REPLIES

Over the next few weeks there will be several extra emails, notes or notifications for your attention.  The staff request that you ensure that you spend time reading the details and when required, please reply or respond as quickly as possible.

Happy Centenary Celebrations to all who attend Saturday’s festivities!!
