The Fabulous Carnival March

The Fabulous Carnival march - Its a wrap!

Last week the college production, “The Fabulous Carnival March” was performed to over 500 people across 4 shows at Gasworks Theatre in Port Melbourne. Students wrote, directed, choreographed, did the lights and sound, acted, and supported each other through an epic week. Closing night was to a sold out and enthusiastic crowd, with many tears and a lot of gratitude.

Special thanks go to Chris Agathagelidis, the creator of this years show, as well as the staff that supported us by driving buses, making sets and getting us coffee.

Until next year…..

Mexican Art

Students study the Mexican tradition of ‘Honouring the Day of the Dead’, a festival to honour those closest of friends and family who have passed. They have painted canvases in the theme in vibrant colours using acrylic and watercolour paint. They are in the process of creating a clay skull of their own design to accompany the painting. Covering the two mediums of paint and clay; both very different in their approach of handing and understanding the mediums. They have used motifs that are related to Mexican themes, first creating a Mood Board for inspiration and transferring aspects of this for their artworks.
