PRINCIPAL'S REPORT

Mr Richard Minack with College Alum Sarah Hawe

From the Principal

Dear Parents and Friends,

As the term approaches its end, I would like to reinforce the need for us to be mindful that we are respectful and treat each other the way we would like to be treated.  We all have a shared responsibility for ensuring that we model and uphold our values in our day to day interactions with each other, and I am committed to ensuring that everyone in our school community is treated with respect, fairness and dignity.

The strong culture of respect is something we are very proud of at Brighton Secondary College. I am proud when I observe the respectful way our students speak to their teachers and classmates, because they are demonstrating a vital life skill.  I encourage parents to celebrate this and be assured that the work we are doing together now as a community will embed a respectful habit that our students will carry into adulthood.

As a school community, our strength comes from our relationships with one another, and I am very pleased by the way our students, parents and carers contribute to the positive of our school environment. Having a supportive, collegiate and productive school setting, where parents and school staff work in partnership together, is in the best interests of our students.

Because we value respect highly, our school has become very inclusive, and this is something that helps us appreciate diversity in the wider context of the world our children will grow up in and subsequently live, travel and work in.

Please continue to support your child and the school, by both modelling, and expecting, respectful interactions with all members of our community.

Yours faithfully,

Richard Minack
