Federal Election News and funding

In the lead up to the election it's important for parents in your school community to be fully informed of the pre-election promises from each of the major parties and the Greens to be able to make an informed decision on who to vote for.

NCEC (National Catholic Education Commission) and Catholic School Parents Australia have provided some easy to read information sheets for parents about funding of Catholic schools along with an outline of what the Coalition, Labor and Greens parties have pledged related to three key issues for Catholic education:

• School Funding

• Religious Freedom

• Early Childhood Education

Please find below links to important information on each of these areas and for you to share with your parent community:

The Music Bus – Open Day

St Anthony’s will be running a fun and interactive Music Bus Open day this term! On the day the students will have the chance to visit the bus, meet the teacher and ask any questions they might have along the way.  All students will also be invited to take part in a short, interactive session on the bus throughout the school day.

Offering weekly lessons in keyboard, guitar, ukulele, singing, drums and rock band,

The Music Bus program provides the teacher and the instruments, all inside a high-

tech, mobile music classroom (the bus)!

At the end of the activities, students will be given an Expression of Interest form. All

students not already part of The Music Bus program, who would like to join, will

need to return the form to the school office within 7 days by Tuesday 28th May.

The Music Bus will then be in touch with you to book students into lessons.

Mark Your Diaries - Tuesday 21st May

Student Tours - All students will take part in a short interactive session on the bus throughout the day in their classes. The bus will be in our Quad.

To find out more, visit www.themusicbus.com.au or call 1300 168 742.

Canteen

Please remember from Term 2 our school canteen will only be open for lunches and counter sales on WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY AND FRIDAY. This means no canteen on MONDAY or TUESDAY. Canteen sales on these days are minimal and there is no need for us to be open on these days anymore. It will also mean that we can have Eileen working with our students in the learning spaces more often supporting everyone.

ABSENTEES

If your child is going to be absent from school, can you please call the school office on 95460044 before 9.00am.  Alternatively, you can email the school to notify of your child’s absence at  office@sanoblepark.catholic.edu.au, or log the absence via the link on the website.

If we do not receive notification of an absence by 9.30am we are required under new regulations to message you at home or work to follow up the absence. Please notify the school of all absences.
