Head of Senior School Report

As Semester 2 draws to a close the Senior School at Cobram AGS is feeling the pressure as the final assessments for Units 1 and 3 were due. Students and staff worked hard to ensure that the best outcomes were achieved for all, before the focus shifts immediately to Units 2 and 4. For those in Year 12 these will be their final Units of Secondary School, how time flies! All students studying a Unit 3 subject made the trip to St Margaret's Hall to sit the GAT on the 12th of June which was the first taste of a true external exam scenario for many. Cobram AGS staff were not even allowed into the hall and students had to remain for the full 3-hour session which was a valuable experience for the students in the lead up to the business end of the year. Along with the serious academic pursuits students have found time to participate in a number of extracurricular activities including the Year 9 and 10 Winter Sports Day and the Moira Shire Youth Council. We are lucky to have an extra week break mid-year however it is worth a reminder, particularly for those studying VCE, that whilst it is important to recharge and rest, a strong study routine must be kept up during the holidays!
