From the Principal's Desk...

Good afternoon Parents, Guardians and Students
Where has the year gone!
As second term comes to a close and I reflect on the positive energy within our School population there is much to be proud of. Our strong sense of connectedness with each other continues to grow, and is evidenced by the enthusiasm of our sub schools where leaders Mrs. Mary Swoffer, Mr. Kale Watkins and Mr. Ash Kennedy continue to challenge students to ‘be their best’ and contribute with each week that passes.
Our connection with the local and broader community also continues to grow and has been shown in many ways during the term and includes our commitment to the commemoration of ANZAC Day way back at the beginning of this Term, as evidenced by the many students and parents who turned out in Cobram and across the region. It continued with our very well supported P & F initiated Mother’s Day Breakfast, and stall, not to mention the SRC organised Biggest Morning Tea attended by many families and student alike. We have also seen students involved in the Moira Youth Shire Council, refugee Week, the Human Powered Vehicle race series, Meals on Wheels and in the Chess Competition Series to name a few. In addition The School has been extraordinarily well represented in the many local and regional sporting activities attended throughout the term and … the list goes on!
As we move towards the mid-year break and look back it is important that we acknowledge our successes, and recognise our challenges, as a School and as a community. Thanks to all students, parents and staff members for their efforts, commitment and dedication towards continued improvement of our great School throughout the first half of this year. I look forward to fabulous things continuing to occur as the year unfolds.
Parents would be aware of the testing and assessment that has been ongoing in all classes, particularly as the Semester has come to an end over the past week or two. By way of feedback, families should expect to receive Mid-Year reports shortly. These will be sent early next week (beginning Mon July 1). We welcome parental reflection of their child’s academic progress, and are always keen to liaise with parents and students in our efforts to provide the best quality education to all students. Please contact relevant staff members early next term if you wish to discuss any aspect of the Student Reports.
I wish all members of our community a safe and happy break, and look forward to a second semester of continued growth, excitement and quality educational opportunities. See you in three weeks!
Please note: The School Office will be closed during the holidays from 4.00pm Friday June 28 to 9.30am Monday July 15.
Mr. Stephen Gale
Principal
