Level 5/6

What an action packed two weeks the students (and staff) have just celebrated.
The fortnight kicked off with our annual book parade with 100% of the level 5 and 6 students arriving dressed as a book character. Imaginations and craft skills ran riot and the two levels are congratulated on their participation and enthusiasm.
Wednesday saw our top mathematicians competing in the Australian Problem Solving Maths Olympiad. This is a fabulous extension to already excellent problem solving skills and Rangeview Primary School has been competing for many years.
Our school production, Ali Baba and the Bongo Bandits, performed a full dress rehearsal for both casts on Thursday. Staff involved were delighted with the performances. Children from Foundation to level 4 were invited to attend in costumes from the play. The Foundation students in particular were immersed in the production and became involved in the dialogue.
Round 1 of inter school sport was contested on Friday. Rangeview competed in basketball, cricket, volleyball, tennis, softball and Ultimate Frisbee. Once again students displayed great sportsmanship and enjoyed the opportunity to compete with their friends.
Congratulations to the girls Tee Ball team who competed in the Regional Finals at Glen Waverley on Monday 26/8.
As usual, during the two weeks, students have attended instrumental lessons, social groups, QuickSmart Maths, various athletics and sport training and other commitments.
Ali Baba and the Bongo Bandits - Tuesday and Thursday nights witnessed outstanding performances from both casts. Parents, friends and teachers were proud of the performances and students were left with feelings of pride and happiness. Details elsewhere in this newsletter.
The week finished up with a yummy hot pie day and Father’s Day stall organised by the fantastic Rangeview Parents and Friends.
Just another fortnight in the exciting life of levels 5 and 6.
To celebrate the participation and teamwork of our students all classes will hold a party from 12.15 on Wednesday 4th September. It would be appreciated if children could bring some food to share at this time.
