SCC General Notices
When Your Child is Unwell at SCC
Students are not to attend school if they are unwell. In the event your child presents as unwell during the school day, the normal processes apply in that your child will be cared for and observed at school in the first aid room or other appropriate location by a qualified first aid officer, while they await collection from an appropriate parent/guardian/carer.
If your child presents with the prescribed Covid-19 symptoms, the following will occur:
- They will be provided with a medical mask to reduce the risk of transmitting droplets or respiratory fluids.
- The first aid officer who is assisting the student will also be wearing a medical mask and gloves.
- Your child's temperature may be taken using a non-contact thermometer (regardless of the temperature, all students who present unwell will be sent home).
- Our SCC first aid staff have Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in order to support both your child's health as well as their own.
When your child is collected from the College, a letter will be provided to you, which outlines the steps required to be able to return to school. These steps include gaining a medical clearance and only returning to school once they have fully recovered.
COVID-19: If a parent or child is diagnosed with COVID-19 or has had contact with an infected person, you must notify the College immediately.
For all other illnesses, our normal exclusion periods apply.
