Back to School

Back to School for Primary and Grade 11-12

Monday was an exciting day as we welcomed back our primary students and grade 11-12.  We had some very enthusiastic staff and students busily getting reacquainted. Mrs Ambrose was on duty in the morning in front of the building and mentioned how lovely it was to see the bright and excited infant students' faces heading back into class.  Excitement was also evident on the faces of a number of our parents, one dancing away from the building whilst another wound down his window on the way out to share his celebration marking the return of school.

We are now preparing for and looking forward to the return of our grade 7-10 students on Tuesday 9th June following the Queen's Birthday holiday.  Keeping connected when we are not able to meet together is a goal that we have sought to maintain through our online teacher contact, online assemblies and video messaging.  Hopefully you have had a chance to connect into our Youtube assembly events to see students sharing the Bible memory challenge, hear from Alan, and see the band leading us in worship.

Thank you for your patience with our new structures as we seek to minimise the risk to students, staff and parents by managing social contact and the number of people on-site at any given time.  Please, however, feel free to contact the office or teachers for appointments as required and the uniform shop continues to operate and is open to parents.  As we adjust to the "new normal" as it is being called, we also look forward to re-opening some lovely aspects of our school because we value our broad community as an integral aspect of who we are, celebrating faith and life together.

Please note the following details:

School Expectations

As we return to face-to-face education, teachers are working to maintain some of the best aspects of our eCommunity but please be aware that their focus will now return to preparing for face-to-face classes.  It is unreasonable of us to expect staff to juggle the challenges of running both online and face-to-face education however, we will seek to support you as we are able.

If your son or daughter is unable to attend for health or distance reasons, please advise us for attendance purposes.  Where it is feasible to do so, we are happy for those students to continue to access and submit assessment tasks that the classes are completing through Managebac.

Reports

Teachers are in the process of preparing the mid-year reports that will reflect a mixed period of online and on-site education.  More details about how these will look will be available over the coming weeks.

Reports will be available electronically on Friday afternoon 3rd July for Kinder-Grade 10 and parent-teacher interviews for these grades will be held in week 2 of term 3 (these may be calls depending on health guidelines).

Grade 11-12 reports will be made available on Friday 26th June and parent-teacher for these grades will be remote meetings on Wednesday 1st July.

Please contact us if you have any concerns or questions.
