What's Happening

IMPORTANT FIRST AID INFORMATION

Dear Parents/Carers,

As we prepare to welcome our students back at school, we kindly ask that you replace the medication that you collected at the end of last term when the restrictions came into effect due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In order to provide a safe environment to our school community, we will need to implement restrictions on access to the school.

DROP-OFF STATIONS

We will be setting up a medication/action plan drop-off station for Prep – Grade 2 parents at the front of the school, Monday 25 May 2020 between 3pm – 4pm, to enable you to bring your child’s medication/action plan during these times.

For Grade 3 – 6 parents your drop off day will be Friday 5th June between 2pm – 3pm.

Please make sure that the medication that is dropped off is within the expiry date. All medical plans – anaphylaxis, allergy, asthma or others need to be up to date within the last 12 months. Please use this next week wisely if you need to update any plans at the doctors or purchase any medication from the pharmacy.

Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any question regarding this at daemen.amanda.l@edumail.vic.gov.au

Thank you for helping us to manage your child’s medical condition at school and for helping us to keep the school community safe by alleviating any congestion at the drop-offs to school.

Best regards,

Amanda Daemen

OUR NEW SPORTS SHIRTS

Thanks to Bendigo Bank who contributed financially to our new athletics tops. These will be available in the future for students to borrow.

While we are disappointed that school events have been cancelled due to Covid-19,  I am sure there will be many occasions in the future when students will be able to wear them with pride.

CANTEEN

This week Murrumbeena Primary School received the Highly Commended School Canteen award as part of Glen Eira Council’s 2020 Five-Star Safe Food Awards.

This award is in recognition of food safety excellence demonstrated at a business when assessed by Council’s Environmental Health Officers in 2019.

We received a Highly Commended certificate and a window sticker that we hope to display with pride at our school.

We would like to thank Sue for her hard work and ensuring we maintain perfect hygiene practices, which are particularly important at this time.

SUSHI ORDERS

Please note the following change to the arrangements for ordering sushi on Qkr!.

The closing time for placing sushi orders will now be Thursdays 6.00pm.

CSEF

The CSEF is an annual payment to the school to be used towards camps, sports and/or excursion expenses for the benefit of eligible students.

Primary school student rate: $125

Please read the notice below to check on your eligibility.

CSEF forms are available at the office and should be returned by 30 June 2020.

Please note:

Parents (including guardians) no longer need to submit a new application form each year in most cases.

Parents only need to submit an application form in 2020 if any of these changes have occurred since 2019:

  • New student enrolments: students who have started or changed schools in 2020 or if the parent did not apply for CSEF at the school in 2019
  • Changed family circumstances: such as a change of custody, change of name, concession card number, or new siblings commencing at the school in 2020
