A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL

Hi Everyone,

BACK AT SCHOOL

School is slowly returning to normal, students and staff seem happy to be back and social

distancing is working quite well. We have a high number of families who have elected to keep their children home until the start of term 3 which is fine but I just need to remind those families that there are no more learning packs or activities available from school because we are now open for business as usual. The exception is that the website is still available, the learning activities and videos will remain indefinitely they just won’t be updated for the foreseeable.

HYGIENE

We remain vigilant about hygiene and cleaners are attending every day from mid-morning until mid- afternoon to wipe down high touch surfaces such as door handles. Staff in classrooms are also wiping down tables and equipment on a more frequent basis than before COVID.

I wish to thank the few parents who have been called to pick up children who seem sick. We are being very cautious and the whole staff and student body thank you for your support in keeping everyone safe.

SWIMMING AND COMMUNITY ACCESS

The students seem to be coping quite well with classroom based learning and the lack of extra programs such as community access and swimming. At this stage I have not been given any indication as to when these can resume.

SCHOOL SURVEY

Thank you to all the families who completed our survey, the responses were overwhelmingly positive and suggestions helpful for if we ever have to go to remote learning again. Some of our students and all of our staff have also done surveys which will help us improve in the future.

Cheers, Sue.
