MONTH OF THE SACRED HEART

Friends, 

In the liturgical calendar, the Month of May is dedicated to our Blessed Mother Mary, and the Month of June is dedicated to the Sacred Heart. The Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on the Friday (19 June 2020) following the second Sunday after Pentecost. The Feast of Sacred Heart is also the Feast Day of Sacred Heart Parish, Griffith. Although we cannot gather together to celebrate the Feast Day, one  of the class at our college will attend the mass on our behalf to pray for our staff and friends particularly in our college community and our Griffith community of faith in general. 

Last several months we all have faced with many difficult things and sadness both in our country and our community as well. Let us raise our minds and hearts together to pray and support for each other in this difficult time. Let us bring all intentions to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and ask him to show his love and consolation upon us, especially all year 11 students for the loss of their classmate and best friend. May the Lord show his mercy and pardon upon our friend and welcome him into the heavenly kingdom.

Let us learn this prayer together to pray for ourselves and others.

♥ Prayer to the Sacred Heart

O most holy Heart of Jesus, fountain of every blessing,I adore you, I love you and will a lively sorrow for my sins.I offer you this poor heart of mine.Make me humble, patient, pure, and wholly obedient to your will.Grant, good Jesus, that I may live in you and for you.Protect me in the midst of danger; comfort me in my afflictions;give me health of body, assistance in my temporal needs,your blessings on all that I do, and the grace of a holy death.Within your heart I place my every care.In every need let me come to you with humble trust saying,Heart of Jesus, help me.Amen.

O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, 

I offer you all my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of this day, 

for all the intentions of your Sacred Heart, 

in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world, 

in reparation for my sins, 

for the intentions of all my relatives and friends, 

and in particular for the intentions of the Holy Father.

May our Blessed Mother Mary intercede for us and help us to lead others to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, our Lord and Saviour.
