Principal's Notes

A note from the Principal

Thank you to staff, students and parents for all the hard work, the understanding and the support being shown and thank you to the many contributors to this week’s edition of ‘Connections’.

Please enjoy this week’s edition, I think it’s the best so far. This week I enjoyed reading about Gabby Plunkett and her daughter Carly as they have progressively conquered various Healesville mountains.

It was also pleasing to read about, and see pictorial evidence of the high quality cooking skills of students and teachers. I was disappointed that my entry into the ‘virtual dinner party’ staff competition was not listed as a finalist- surely the only reason was that I did not make the deadline. It would have nothing to do with my lack of culinary skills! Elsewhere in the publication I was entertained by Jad Gardner’s descriptions of her self-isolation existence, and by Lisa’s reading habits and I was especially pleased to read more about our dedicated, determined and cheerful students. Congratulations to Kaitlyn, Celeste, Chloe and Issy for their recognition as Students of the Week and congratulations to each of the senior students listed as Student of the Week nominees.

Daniel Glenn is a particularly deserving ‘Staff Member of the Week’ and may I add my thanks and congratulations to those expressed in the article about him. Daniel has demonstrated all of the goodwill, determination, innovation and flexibility which has been shown by so many of our staff members, students and parents throughout the past nine weeks. The qualities shown by Daniel, and by so many members of our school community are why we are so well-placed for a successful return to on-site learning, and why we have so successfully navigated our way through these challenging times.

Great work Daniel, and welcome back senior students!
