St Anthony's Feast Day

We will be celebrating St Anthony's Feast Day on Friday 12th June, 2020, beginning with a virtual Prayer Liturgy online, followed by individual classroom activities to learn about the teachings and miracles of St Anthony.  The Prep to Year 2 students will be learning about

St Anthony and the miracle of the fish, his powerful messages of faith to the people of the time.  The Year 3/4 students will be investigating St Anthony's title as Doctor of the Church and his teachings about helping others, while the Year 5/6 students will be exploring   St Anthony as the Patron Saint of finding lost things.

St. Anthony of Padua is one of the Catholic Church’s most popular saints. The patron saint of lost and stolen articles, St Anthony of Padua was a powerful Franciscan preacher and teacher. He’s typically portrayed holding the child Jesus—or a lily—or a book—or all three—in his arms.

St. Anthony of Padua’s life is what every Christian’s life is meant to be; a steady courage to face the ups and downs of life, the call to love and forgive, to be concerned for the needs of others, to deal with crisis great and small, and to have our feet solidly on the ground of total trusting love and dependence on God.
