Principal's Report

I can't tell you how wonderful it is to have our school community back together again, albeit different, following the second and final stage of our return to on-site learning this week.

It was a real highlight visiting each of the Year 3 - 6 classrooms on Tuesday and hearing what students liked about remote learning. I sincerely congratulated each class for the work they had achieved, particularly their use of Teams, OneNote and technology in general. It was amazing how many children reported that they had in fact taught their parents something too!

I would like to share with you, a letter of thanks from the Secretary of the Department of Education and Training, Jenny Atta, acknowledging the hard work, understanding and commitment of parent and carers during the remote and flexible learning period.

COVID-19 Mist Sanitisation

Last Saturday (6 June), the whole school was professionally sanitised by The Mohunter Company in preparation for the return of the entire school population to on-site learning.

My sincerest thanks to Lee Skaftouros (our Cleaner), for organising this - it is very comforting for all concerned to know that our health and hygiene is in the best hands.

School Football Jumpers

I would like to thank Parents & Friends for their kind donation of two sets of Football Jumpers for our Interschool Sport Football teams. This replaces our depleted sets of jumpers which would often have the players swapping jumpers as they interchanged on the field. The new design follows on from our Sports Tops (introduced in 2018) and keeps our school looking contemporary and sport appropriate. We are very grateful and hope that these can be worn this year, once sport recommences.

In Closing...

The coming months will be a time for us as a school, to determine how we move forward and maximise the new skills and resources that everyone has developed throughout the remote learning period. I encourage you to complete the DET Lessons from Remote and Flexible Learning Survey that was posted on Compass yesterday.

It has been a very long term for our entire school community and with only two more weeks to go until school holidays, I remind you that as always, there will be an early dismissal on the last day of term (Friday 26 June). Please note the staggered dismissal times below and ensure that you have made arrangements for your child to be collected at the appropriate time according to your family name. Students who travel to school independently (on foot or by bike), will be dismissed at 2.30pm.

Early Dismissal

2:10pm       A - F

2:20pm       G - O

2:30pm       P – Z

Stay warm!
