Swimming Carnivals

Primary Inter-House Swimming Carnival

The Primary Inter-house Swimming Carnival was a very fun and inviting affair. The day started with some very exciting, novelty water tasks. Unfortunately, the weather was a bit cool outside and left one group a little bit chilled from the experience. Luckily, they were from Carmichael, the blue house!

After lunch, the races lived up to the excitement that everyone had waited for. As house battled house for supremacy in the water some great bonds were forged, with classmates and housemates and rivalries established. House Booth ended up taking the day but, it was a fun and exciting affair, and some very eager faces that are already asking about next year. A great thank you to Mr Edward for organising the carnival and all the teachers that gave up their time to help wherever they could.

Secondary Inter-House Swimming Carnival

On Tuesday 16th February, the secondary students departed the College for the annual Inter-house Swimming Carnival. We opened the day with a warm-up swim through before kicking off the competitive freestyle events. It was an absolute scorcher of a day, but every student had the opportunity to get in the water to cool off in the novelty event accompanied by some pool noodles and boogie boards.

For the exceptional students who participated in multiple events, icy-poles were supplied half-way through the day to give them the extra boost they needed to finish strong in the competition. Towards the end of the carnival, the students took a minute out of their day to honour the Year 12 students as they jumped into the pool together, concluding their final Inter-house Swimming Carnival.

The results were close but at the end of the day House Graham took the win and were awarded with the College’s brand new shield.

Students who performed exceptionally well at the carnival were recognised at the College Assembly for their impressive achievements as Champion Boy/Girl of each year group respectively. These students, along with others who performed well on the day, are currently training hard to represent The King’s College in the ACC Inter-school Swimming Carnival in Week 6. We wish these students luck as they prepare for the upcoming event.
