ASDAN

This term, the students have been learning about the employability skills, Team work and Communication. Once a week, each class participates in a work experience program where we learn to follow instructions, work safely and complete jobs that help us to become more independent. The students are all fabulous workers. We work hard but we have a great time doing it.

VCAL

The World Of Work On Thursday 11th February, VCAL students started their Independent and Supported Work Experience placements for Term 1. These placements range from working in a local MP’s office to Hospitality and Retail venues and a workshop, Enable, where they dismantle computers and other discarded items. A group of students this term, have chosen to volunteer for the Brotherhood of St. Laurence in Moonee Ponds and Deer Park stores. After being inducted in the stores OHS practices, the students are given a variety of tasks involving sorting and colour coding clothes on the racks, organising books and DVDs by genre and creating displays.

Bora and Rayan were given the job of creating an eye - catching Valentines display. They had to find any items that they thought suitable and design the stand in the middle of the store. The girls worked well and created a fantastic display. All items in these stores are donated and customers can purchase a variety of clothes and household items at great prices. So support your local charity shops and take note of the fantastic work they do in                         providing items for everyone. Well done all the workers 😊
