Year 7 camp

The year 7s had a lovely time at Camp Arrabri last week. They showed enthusiasm and a positive attitude when attempting the flying fox or giant swing which was out of their comfort zone and had a lot of fun rotating through many other activities. There were plenty of tired looking faces from students, and teachers, when they arrived home.

A big thank you to Mr Hull and Mrs Witt for the time and effort they put into organising the camp and to the teachers who went along to support your daughters! It was a lot of fun.

Year 7 Leadership

At camp the year 7 students who were interested in a leadership position planned and presented a speech to their class or cohort. It takes a lot of courage from the students to do this and can be quite an exciting but daunting experience. It has been great to see so many students apply for a position and put themselves forward to be involved in this process. Congratulations to all students who have done this. A special congratulations to the students who have received a position. There are more leadership positions which will be appointed over the coming weeks.

Camp Recap!

The minute we got on the bus excitement energised our bodies. You could hear everyone on the bus as their voices were filled with a thrilling squeal.

When we arrived at the camp we were anxious to get into our cabins. First we had to wait to listen to the camp rules. The bell rang and we all rushed to the meeting area where we were given our next instructions. We were all given a group and an activity. The activities there included: giant swing, flying fox, low ropes, rock climbing, archery, mini-golf and the pool! There was also a trampoline, a hall, a volleyball area and a tennis court. It was all fun!

The day we had to leave was the day we got to go into town and buy things, unfortunately the sweet shop was closed so that led to a long line in the chook house. It was the only place that had lollies!

Camp was the highlight of the first term of year 7. We all were energised and ready for  three amazing days of fun at Arrabri lodge. We all enjoyed many fun activities such as the low ropes course, giant swing and many more. After long activities we get lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. The best part of everyday is the fun things we do at night.  Let’s start with striking a pose. You get combined with another cabin then you dress weirdly, choose a song then use the catwalk and strike a pose. On the last day before boarding the bus you get to experience unique, wild animals up close.  Including an owl, spider and many more amazing creatures and insects.
