Intermediate Round Robin report
Congratulations to our Intermediate Cricket, Tennis, Lawn Bowls and Volleyball teams who went out on Monday 22 March to compete in their round robin day. All students involved were buzzing with excitement with smiles on their faces as this was possibly a new experience for many. Thank you to our staff coaches – Mr Vermieff, Miss Dickson, Miss Peach and Mr Clancy for accompanying and coaching the students. A special mention to the Volleyball team who now proceed to the next level, the Southern Metropolitan Regional finals later on in the year.
Our day at volleyball
Today was the day the year 9s and 10s of MGSC went to the Dandenong Stadium to represent our school at this year's volleyball interschool sports tournament. It was a new experience for some whilst others had visited these courts before, but everyone was still buzzing with excitement. We found there were many schools we were not familiar with so it was even better when we beat those teams. Our two teams won all of their matches and defeated the other teams by a landslide. Although the B team competition did not have finals, they won the round robin competition and participated with smiles on their faces.
Our A team did in fact have finals. Fortunately, we won the final match to progress to the next competition at a future date. It was a tight game as both teams had won a set each. As it got down to the last few points MGSC got through and defeated them with pride and persistence. Congratulations to both teams!
