Big Breakfast Wrap

Hope you all enjoyed the Big Breakfast last Friday! I know the children certainly enjoyed the assortment of doughnuts and pastries on offer judging by the limited leftovers.

It was wonderful to finally have an opportunity for everyone to reacquaint and also to welcome our new families.

The weather was reasonably kind (we didn't have to relocate far to find shelter) but the company and food was great.

Thank you to Tim Karla and Eva Galliano for manning the BBQ and  to all staff for their assistance in service. It was very much appreciated.

Cross Country

Last Friday our Cross County Team competed in the Footscray District Cross Country Championships at Hansen Reserve.

All of our children performed admirably and those who finished 'top 6' in their age group will progress to the next stage of the competition.

So congratulations to :

  • Alison Feely 4th
  • Mia Crawford 6th
  • Kaea Mauriohooho 5th
  • Chiara Avery 2nd
  • Naomi Gebremeskel 5th
  • Jake Miller 6th

Thank you to all children for your excellent behavior and for the support you showed each other on the day. A big thank you to Mrs Brittney Wohling for her organisation.

1-1 Chromebook Program

The excitement builds as we move closer and closer to the beginning of our new 1:1 Chromebook Program for students in Years 3-6, with information sessions scheduled for next week. Read all about it on the e-Learning page of our Newsletter.

Timetable Changes

Over the next few weeks, our timetable will alter to allow teachers to plan extensively for Term 2. This however does NOT effect the days on which your child is to wear their sports uniform.

Ride 2 School Day

Not long to go until National Ride2School Day!

Friday 19th  March is when schools across Australia, including Corpus Christi, will meet as a group and ride or scoot their way to school.

Using the same route as last year, students and their parents are welcome to will meet us at the Glamis Road side of Hansen Reserve at 8:30am.

Students are invited to decorate their bike if they wish. Upon reaching school, students who have participated will receive a sticker. We would love to see as many families involved as we can.

Open Week

This week is Open Week and our Student Leaders have been working hard conducting school tours for families who have a child starting Year Prep 2022.

Feel free to pass this information on to families you know who may be searching for a school for their child next year.

Easter Raffle

This week each family will receive a book of raffle tickets to sell to family and friends for our traditional  Easter raffle. Tickets are $1.00 each. Raffle money needs to be returned to the office by Wednesday 31st  March. We are also looking for donations of cane baskets (or the like) to package our Easter egg prizes. These can be donated at any time and handed in at the school office.

In order to create the prizes for the  Easter Egg Raffle we are having an Easter egg donation day on Monday 29th March.  On this day we ask that each family send in an Easter Egg/Bunny so that we can package them into prizes for the raffle. Donations are to be placed on the tables in the Community hall upon arrival to school.

Easter Egg Wrapping Morning

We will be holding an Easter Egg wrapping morning (to wrap all our raffle prizes) on Monday 29th March straight after Assembly. If you are able to help, please make your way up to the hall after assembly. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Years 1-6 Learning Conferences

Learning Conferences for Year 1 to 6  students have been scheduled for:

Wednesday 31st March, 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Please note that all children in Prep to Year 6 will be dismissed at 1:00 pm that day.

These conferences will be held face-to-face. As the child is at the heart of everything we do we ask that all children attend the Learning Conferences with their parents.

We understand that at times, there may be a need to address matters that ‘aren’t meant for the child’s ears’ and we will certainly accommodate those needs towards the end of the appointment time.

We hope that the opportunity for all to take part in these Learning Conferences proves most beneficial. The meetings will be scheduled every 12 minutes. We understand that in some special cases a longer time will be required and if this is the case you are asked to make alternative arrangements with your class teacher.

Families are to use School Interviews Online to manage bookings. Please go to www.schoolinterviews.com.au and enter the event code of:   decqv to book interviews for the times that suit your family.

Have a wonderful week

God bless
